Investment thesis
Gigafund backs a small number of founders it expects to build the world's most significant and transformative businesses over a 20-year horizon. Rather than confining itself to today's best-performing industries, the firm invests across all sectors, geographies, and stages, seeking entrepreneurs who apply first-principles thinking to the world's biggest problems. It concentrates most of each fund into a handful of companies, reflecting the belief that the bulk of venture returns come from 1-2 companies per decade. This long-term, concentrated approach mirrors the strategy its founders deployed at Founders Fund and is expected to outperform the traditional 10-year venture model.
