Investment thesis
GSAP is a government-backed, equity-free acceleration program operated by JETRO in cooperation with the Cabinet Office to support Japanese startups pursuing overseas business development. It partners with leading foreign accelerators such as Alchemist, StartX, ERA, Third Derivative, and Centrepolis to deliver tailored courses spanning enterprise B2B, AI, sustainability/climate tech, and manufacturing/hard tech. Participants gain market-entry strategy, mentoring, networking, sales-channel development, business alliances, and fundraising support, plus access to investors and partners. Companies must be based in Japan, be able to conduct business in English, and be considering overseas expansion or fundraising. The program targets pre-seed to Series B (and later-stage for some phases) startups.
