About
Stewart Butterfield built two companies out of failed games: Flickr, salvaged from the game Game Neverending and sold to Yahoo in 2005, and Slack, salvaged from the game Glitch and sold to Salesforce for $27.7B in 2021. He led Slack from its 2013 launch through a 2019 direct listing and the Salesforce acquisition, leaving in 2022. He is a Cambridge-trained philosopher by education.
