Johnny Hu is a principal at Menlo Ventures who invests in biotech and life science companies, focusing on novel therapeutics and new medical technologies at the earliest stages. Before Menlo, he was a vice president at Longitude Capital and previously an associate at Omega Funds, and during his Ph.D. he contributed to gene editing technologies later licensed by companies including Editas Medicine and Beam Therapeutics. He holds a Ph.D. and an A.B. in Chemical and Physical Biology from Harvard University, and an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar.
