Gabriel Pereyra co-founded Harvey in 2022 with his roommate Winston Weinberg and, as President, supplies the research DNA behind the legal-AI platform valued at $11 billion in March 2026 on roughly $190 million of annual recurring revenue. A machine-learning researcher who published with Geoffrey Hinton at Google Brain, then worked at DeepMind and Meta AI — where he co-authored the OPT-IML instruction-tuned model — he showed Weinberg GPT-3 in their Los Angeles apartment, built a chain-of-thought prompt that answered 100 California tenant-law questions well enough for attorneys to approve 86 of them, and cold-contacted Sam Altman with the results. He now runs Harvey Labs.
