He previously founded and led Portfolium, which was acquired by Instructure in 2019. Markowitz holds a BS in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego and an MS in Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and earlier worked as an aerospace engineer on liquid rocket engines for NASA.
