Surjit Kooner joined Midven in 2005 and serves as a director of Future Planet Capital Ventures, as well as fund principal and Investment Committee member for the MEIF West Midlands Equity Fund and a similar role for the Exceed Partnership. A chartered accountant, he trained at Arthur Andersen specialising in corporate finance, spent time on secondment at Livingbridge Equity Partners, and later worked in corporate finance with SME clients at Deloitte in Birmingham. He holds a degree in economics and finance from Brunel University and a Master's in corporate strategy and governance from Nottingham University.

Tony Stott joined Midven in 1998 and became chief executive in 2006, later leading the company's management buy-out; following its acquisition by Future Planet Capital, he serves as investment director for the Exceed Fund and the MEIF West Midlands Equity Fund. A chartered accountant who trained with Deloitte & Touche in Birmingham, he previously worked in the finance departments of two Birmingham-based businesses. He holds a degree in economics with politics from Manchester University.

Huw Sparkes works across the Midlands Engine Investment Fund and the West Midlands Co-Investment Fund at Midven, where he sources and executes new investments and manages a portfolio of high-growth companies in the Midlands region. He started his career in startup advisory at corporate finance firm Novo Ventures, advising pre-seed management teams on fundraising and growth, before joining Midven as a junior analyst in 2019. He also co-founded the young professionals networking group The Colmore Collective and has mentored for the University of Birmingham "Elevate" accelerator and the National Cyber Security Centre incubator.

Jordan joined Midven in 2023 as an investment associate on the West Midlands Co-Investment Fund and Midlands Engine Investment Fund. He previously worked in change management, consulting, and as an analyst at the Development Bank of Wales.

Julie is Fund Accountant at Future Planet Capital, handling reporting, valuations, investor reporting, accounting and tax for managed funds. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax adviser, she previously was a senior manager at Ernst and Young and Deloitte.

Luize is an Investment Analyst on the regional team at the firm's Birmingham office. She graduated in Economics and Politics from the University of Leeds and previously interned at Citibank and Callidus Capital.

Samantha is Finance Associate at Future Planet Capital, running accounts receivable and payable functions, supporting month-end reporting and fund accounting. She is a Licensed Accountant with an AAT Level 4 diploma and previously worked at Sephton and Company Chartered Accountants.

Andy Bard joined Midven in 2018 as a portfolio manager. A chartered accountant who trained with KPMG, he has experience representing funders across SME businesses and supporting owner managers through reorganisation and growth, including six years working on and exiting the RBS equity portfolio. He holds a degree in accounting and finance from Leeds University.

Daniel Gaize is an investor at Midven working on the Midlands Engine Investment Fund and the West Midlands Co-Investment Fund, where he sources and executes new investments and supports portfolio companies after investment. He joined Midven in 2021, having previously worked at EFG private bank, Standard Life Investments, a family office focused on alternative assets, and LGPS Central, where he managed private equity for eight Midlands-based local government pension schemes. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
