Investment thesis
DAI is a member-led micro-VC structured as a fully-capitalized investment company rather than a fund, comprising over 100 members including seasoned angels, tech entrepreneurs, venture fund partners, senior executives, and one institutional investor. It invests in seed and Series A rounds of early-stage technology companies that have progressed from proof of concept to customer traction and scale. DAI typically deploys $100,000 to $250,000 per company, with members frequently co-investing to reach first-round investments of up to $2,000,000. It often invests alongside established venture funds acting as lead but has also led seed and bridge rounds, and reserves dry powder for follow-on investments in strong-performing companies.
