Tyler Winklevoss co-founded HarvardConnection (later ConnectU) in 2003 with his brother Cameron and classmate Divya Narendra while at Harvard. In 2012 he and Cameron established Winklevoss Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm, and began accumulating bitcoin when it traded for less than $10 per coin. He co-founded the crypto exchange Gemini, which launched in 2015 and became the first licensed exchange to offer ether trading and custody, later raising $400 million at a $7.1 billion valuation. He and Cameron also filed the S-1 for the world's first bitcoin ETF and authored "The Case for $500K Bitcoin" in 2020. Through Winklevoss Capital he backs early-stage startups across crypto, consumer, media, and frontier technology.
