Investment thesis
Liebenthal Ventures grew out of a family office active in real estate since 1983 and running a public-company hedge fund. It expanded into startup and venture investing in 2013 to diversify risk. The firm is explicitly industry agnostic, backing dynamic founders with world-class ideas or products regardless of sector. Its first investment, LoopPay, was acquired by Samsung within 15 months and became Samsung Pay. Beyond capital, the firm supports portfolio companies with operational guidance, board participation, and introductions to investors, customers, suppliers, and partners drawn from its network. Typical angel and seed checks range from $25K to $500K depending on the opportunity.
