Investment thesis
Huron River Ventures backs early-stage entrepreneurs bringing digital and sustainable technology to the global energy industry. The firm sees the energy sector transforming under two forces: the climate imperative to deploy sustainable and clean solutions, and Industry 4.0 technologies such as cloud, mobile, IoT, AI, automation and AR/VR reshaping the industry. It views the Midwest, chronically underserved by venture capital, as the new frontier for energy innovation. HRV forms a view on where its focus markets will be in five to ten years and invests accordingly, then supports portfolio companies extensively after investing.
