About
Subomi Oluwalana built the webhooks infrastructure a lot of the internet's software quietly runs on. He co-founded Frain Technologies in 2021 with Emmanuel Aina and shipped Convoy, an open-source webhooks gateway that handles the delivery, retries, security and observability every engineering team ends up rebuilding badly by hand. The company went through Y Combinator in the winter 2022 batch and raised a $473,000 pre-seed led by Rally Cap Ventures, building out of Nigeria and San Francisco. Before founding it he was an engineer across Nigerian fintech — Tangerine Life, MKOBO Microfinance Bank and the crypto exchange Buycoins — which is where he kept meeting the same unglamorous problem he eventually turned into a product.
