Jesse Sullivan founded Alter in 2016 with the goal of using entrepreneurship to address global poverty. He previously served on a counterinsurgency team in Helmand, Afghanistan, advising US military and NATO strategy, and after the 2010 Haiti earthquake advised the Haitian Ambassador and worked with a large refugee camp. He is based in Petersburg, Illinois, where he runs Alter.
