Investment thesis
Opes-LCEF invests in enterprises that create lasting social impact and systemic change, aiming to alleviate poverty through innovation and entrepreneurship. Its work centers on impact and gender-lens investing, particularly supporting impact enterprises in East Africa and Italy. Programs such as Restart East Africa, Restart Catalyst, Restart Italia and Rigenera support enterprises, including those affected by the Covid-19 emergency. Beyond capital, the fund provides pre- and post-investment support and runs training initiatives like the Social Enterprise Open Camp, working alongside a network of foundations and development partners to cultivate sustainable, impact-driven business ecosystems.
