Investment thesis
Mbuyu Capital invests globally in innovative, science-driven companies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, mitigate climate change and build resilience, with a focus on food and agriculture. Strategies include backing plant-based and cultured protein producers, climate-resilient seeds and integrated pest management, targeting both early-stage and mature businesses while taking an active value-add role. A separate Special Situations strategy invests opportunistically in debt and equity for companies with strong franchises but short-term liquidity challenges, particularly in foodtech and underserved markets such as Africa. The firm always co-invests its own capital and targets attractive IRR and capital multiples with defined exit horizons.
