Investment thesis
Mbuyu Capital invests globally in innovative, science-driven companies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build climate resilience, with a particular focus on the food and agriculture sector, including plant-based and cultured protein producers and climate-resilient seeds and integrated pest management. It targets a mix of early-stage and more mature equity investments, aiming for 20%+ IRR and 3x capital over three to five years, and plays an active value-adding role. A separate Special Situations strategy invests opportunistically in debt and equity for companies with strong franchises but short-term liquidity needs, including in foodtech and African markets.
