Investment thesis
The Martinson Family Foundation and its associated Donor Advised Fund make grants supporting STEM education and higher education. It has financed and guided honors colleges at major universities, and since 1998 has funded dedicated programs at 20 universities to strengthen K-12 STEM instruction, typically through three-year grants to Schools of Education or Engineering, mainly in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Grants emphasize innovation in curriculum, teaching methods, and faculty professional development, aiming to inspire science, math, and technology teachers to encourage students toward engineering careers. The Foundation also funds technology upgrades in performing arts venues, supports college and local theater, and sponsors marching bands.
