Investment thesis
GxPartners backs seed and early-stage startups by supplementing the resources they lack. Beyond providing capital, the firm combines the resources of its corporate partners with startups to accelerate growth, pursuing an 'open innovation 2.0' model in which multiple operating companies collaborate with startups and contribute to building the regional ecosystem. It runs an acceleration program offering mentoring from front-line mentors and funding, supporting startups through their pitch at StartupGo!Go!. GxPartners has built cooperative relationships with overseas partners to support startups expanding globally into Asia and also invests in foreign startups seeking to enter the Japanese market.

from the firm's websiteToshihiro Kishihara is the Managing Partner of GxPartners LLP, which he founded in 2018, and formed the Kyushu Open Innovation Fund in 2019. He previously established the accelerator Startup GoGo Inc in 2016 and served as the first executive committee chairman of Startup Go!Go! in 2014. His earlier career included managing the consulting company Growth Assist (2009–2018), working in the IPO-focused underwriting division at D.Brain Securities (1999–2009), and a role in the corporate planning department of Yaohan (1997–1999).
