Investment thesis
JSSA was founded to build a startup ecosystem in Japan by having experienced entrepreneurs who have taken companies public mentor the next generation. It aims to increase the number of startups and pass on lessons from failure, helping members achieve exits via IPO or M&A. The association operates a fund with advisors acting as LPs to enable sound capital policy and financing, and connects members with sponsors, advisory firms, and other member companies to build revenue and community. Its stated goal is 100 exits (20 IPOs, 80 M&As) among member companies by 2032, contributing to higher business formation rates, increased tax revenue, and job creation.
