Nabiha Syed is the Executive Director of Mozilla Foundation, where she works on community-led technology futures. Previously, she served as CEO of The Markup, a journalism nonprofit whose investigative work was cited by Congress 21 times, prompted dozens of class action lawsuits, and won national journalism awards. Before founding The Markup in 2020, Syed spent a decade as a media lawyer specializing in technology, free speech, and access to information, and holds degrees from Yale Law School, Johns Hopkins University, and Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar.
