Investment thesis
Venture Catalyst backs early-stage, high-growth startups developing innovative products, services or business models capable of competing in global markets, with a dedicated stream for social-impact ventures tackling social, community or environmental problems. Participants must generally be affiliated with Adelaide University, UniSA or the University of Adelaide and be based in South Australia. Over six months the program provides tailored capability workshops, one-to-one mentoring, access to university resources and industry experts, a startup community, and an equity-free $10,000 AUD stipend while founders retain all equity and IP. The program excludes small businesses, undifferentiated ideas, licensing-only proposals and ventures needing venture capital or R&D funding.
