Investment thesis
MGP provides sizable growth capital to Japanese startups so they can invest aggressively for long-term growth rather than rushing to IPO or focusing on short-term profits. It targets growth-stage private companies with established product-market fit, revenue models, and attractive unit economics, typically investing 1-3 billion yen per company toward businesses scaling to 10 billion yen in sales. Focus areas include consumer internet and B2B software and services, including healthcare tech and fintech. MGP also pursues buyouts, PIPEs, and carve-outs, and, via Pleiad, can hold public positions for long periods, enabling crossover investing across a company's full lifecycle.
