Investment thesis
Day One is an angel syndicate focused on supporting former-Amazon founders launching startups. It invests when a co-founder or executive is an Amazon (or Amazon subsidiary such as Twitch or Ring) alumnus, when co-investors are Amazon alumni or Amazon investment vehicles like the Alexa Fund, or when an Amazon alumnus sits on the company's board. The syndicate can invest across stages from pre-seed to pre-IPO, with a sweet spot between seed and Series A. It is stage-agnostic, does not lead rounds, and does not seek board seats, relying on its community to source opportunities and sharing carry with those who refer deals.
