MealMe provides a single API and set of SDKs that let other companies retrieve menu, product and inventory data from restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, liquor stores and other retailers, and send resulting orders to those merchants' points of sale for pickup or delivery. The company describes the offering in two parts: a Data Suite covering point-of-interest, menu and inventory data, and an Ordering Suite that embeds checkout for products from stores across the US and Canada. According to the company, the API covers inventory data on more than 1 billion products from more than 1 million stores, and orders can be fulfilled through thousands of delivery service providers, including third-party delivery services, courier services and stores operating their own drivers; quotes are selected on cost and speed, and the white-labeled solution includes order tracking and customer support.

The company positions its technology as an infrastructure layer for "embedded commerce," offering platforms that have historically relied on affiliate marketing or advertising a way to monetize through product purchases made directly on their own surfaces. A "Universal Point of Sale API" is marketed to customers that would otherwise need to build one-off integrations with individual merchants or point-of-sale systems. Product data is also positioned for non-transactional uses such as competitive pricing intelligence or populating the front end of an app or website. Co-founder and president Matthew Bouchner has said the company expects ordering to be embedded across cars, TVs, social apps and AI assistants, and that MealMe intends to expand from food ordering and delivery into broader e-commerce and AI use cases.
