- How long have each of you been working on this? How much of that has been full-time? Please explain.
- The founders have worked on the project for two years. Following the exit of a prior startup, they evaluated more than 20 technologies from various countries before partnering with Prof. Uri Saragovi of McGill University, who developed a method for early ovarian cancer diagnosis. CEO Oriana has been full-time since September 2019, and the two other co-founders joined full-time in October 2020.
- What is your company going to make? Please describe your product and what it does or will do.
- The company is building a non-invasive blood-based liquid biopsy test to diagnose ovarian cancer at early stages. It addresses the fact that about 80% of cases are currently diagnosed at stages III and IV, where the five-year survival rate is 28%, compared with 90% for early-stage diagnosis, since existing methods lack sensitivity and specificity in stages I and II.
