Ryan McIntyre is a founding partner of the venture firm Foundry. He co-founded the early internet search engine Excite in 1993, working there as a software engineer building infrastructure for a large-scale consumer web site; Excite went public on NASDAQ in 1996 and became Excite@Home after its 1999 merger with @Home. He moved into venture capital at Mobius Venture Capital in January 2000, just before the first internet bubble burst. His engineering background shapes a focus on developer-focused products and services as well as enterprise and consumer businesses. He holds a Symbolic Systems degree from Stanford, where he studied genetic algorithms and neural networks.
