Investment thesis
The UT Horizon Fund is a university-sponsored strategic investment vehicle backing formative-stage companies that have a technology license agreement with a University of Texas System institution or in which a UT System institution holds equity. Established by the UT System Board of Regents in 2011, it aims to help System-related companies generate social and financial returns. The fund acts as a collaborative co-investor and long-term partner rather than pricing or leading rounds, investing alongside other capital sources. Target companies typically have a full-time leader, an implemented business plan, and a reasonable prospect of attracting additional investors in the current round.
