Investment thesis
SANAD targets underfunded micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa, a segment that contributes heavily to regional GDP and employment yet struggles to access formal finance, disproportionately affecting young, female and rural entrepreneurs. The fund extends financing through local financial institution partners and complements it with Advisory & Capacity Building services delivered both to partners and directly to MSMEs. Managed by Finance in Motion, which has operated in the region for 14 years, SANAD emphasizes local expertise, local currency lending, crisis resilience and long-term institution building, aiming to generate development impact alongside sustainable returns.
