Plaid

William Hockey co-founded Plaid in 2013 and built the API layer that connects fintech apps to bank accounts — then did something no other fintech founder had: he bought a bank. He left Plaid's CTO seat in 2019, spent Plaid shares on Northern California National Bank for roughly $50 million, and turned it into Column, the developer-first nationally chartered bank now powering Brex, Mercury, Ramp, Wise and Bilt. Column has taken no outside capital at all: Hockey owns about 90% of a business doing roughly $200 million of revenue and over $100 million of free cash flow, and says investor offers have valued it near $6 billion. He studied computer science and economics at Emory and met co-founder Zach Perret as a Bain consultant in Atlanta.

Dave Munichiello is a GV Managing Partner leading the firm's tech investing team across consumer, enterprise, and frontier areas, with a focus on data platforms, developer tools, infrastructure, and enterprise software. Before GV he was an early executive at Kiva Systems (later Amazon Robotics) and a combat veteran and former U.S. military Captain; he holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from Emory University.

Phil Venables focuses on early-stage cyber and cyber-adjacent investments at Ballistic Ventures. He was the first CISO of Google Cloud, a longtime partner at Goldman Sachs (including 17 years as its first CISO), and currently advises Google, Warburg Pincus, and several boards including HackerOne, Veza, and Plaid.

Prantik Mazumdar is an entrepreneur and venture investor who founded Happy Marketer, a digital marketing services firm serving regional and multinational clients, which he exited in 2019 upon its acquisition by Merkle (part of dentsu International). He currently serves as Managing Director of the CXM Group at Dentsu Singapore and as President of TiE Singapore, while actively investing through Quest Ventures, HealthXCapital, and NUS Angel Ventures. Mazumdar holds a degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Technopreneurship from the National University of Singapore and contributes regular columns on digital transformation to Marketing Magazine, Campaign Asia, and other publications.

Santo Politi co-founded Spark Capital in 2005 with Todd Dagres and Bijan Sabet. Born in Turkey, he studied electrical engineering in the U.S. and worked as an engineer at Panasonic before moving into finance and venture capital, including roles at Bankers Trust, Blockbuster (as President), and Charles River Ventures. He focuses on early-stage investing and has backed companies such as Plaid, Oculus, Twitter, and Wayfair.
