New Wave Ventures treats investing as a people business, prioritising trustworthy, capable people over elaborate financial projections. It invests its own money without external investors, borrowings, leverage, or artificial exit deadlines, and is willing to co-invest with like-minded partners. Capital is provided through equity or loans, with the firm generally leaving competent leaders to run their businesses while contributing on strategic goals, operating plans and funding. Drawing on operational experience, the firm adds value by challenging assumptions, anticipating problems and helping overcome obstacles, seeking companies with the appetite and ability to scale globally.
