Nayan Gregory Parekh founded New Rhein Healthcare Investors in 2011 and serves as its Managing Partner. He previously ran M&A for Novartis AG in Basel (2004-2010), led Deutsche Bank's European Healthcare Group in London (1998-2004), and began his career at Bear Stearns' Life Sciences group in New York. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester.

Ivan Gergel, MD, MBA, has been Managing Partner and Chief Medical Officer at New Rhein since 2017. A global pharmaceutical R&D executive credited with 14 drug approvals, he previously held senior roles at Nektar Therapeutics, Endo Health Solutions, Forest Laboratories, and SmithKline Beecham, and holds an MD from the University of London and an MBA from Wharton.

Subhanu Saxena joined New Rhein as a Managing Partner in 2017, bringing executive experience across pharmaceuticals, FMCG, consulting, and banking in Europe, North America, Africa, and Asia. He previously served as Global CEO of Cipla and held senior pharma leadership roles at Novartis, and holds an MBA from INSEAD and an engineering degree from Oxford.

Akhil Akula joined New Rhein in 2022 as a Vice President, focusing on sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring, and portfolio management. He previously worked in corporate development at Pfizer, was a founding member of the Pfizer Breakthrough Growth Initiatives, and held roles at Healthcare Royalty Partners, MTS Health Partners, and Ziegler.

Bill Engels is CFO of New Rhein, where he leads the firm's finance and operations functions. He previously served as CFO at Apple Tree Partners and held senior finance roles at Cohesive Capital Partners, Centerbridge Partners, and Clarus Ventures. His background covers fund operations, finance strategy, and regulatory compliance for private funds, including interim CFO work for portfolio companies.

Chris Ferris is Head of Investor Relations at New Rhein Healthcare Investors, where he leads investor relations and fundraising efforts and manages investor communications and onboarding. He has more than a decade of experience in investor relations and capital formation, including venture capital fundraising and investor outreach.

Jonathan Soll joined New Rhein in May 2022 and focuses on sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities while supporting portfolio companies. He previously was an analyst at Denovo Capital Group focused on healthcare special situations, began his career in data analytics at Quicken Loans, and holds a BBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.

Sutton Blanchard joined Halifax in 2026, where he evaluates investment opportunities, executes transactions, and monitors portfolio companies. He previously worked as an Investment Banking Associate at Raymond James in New York, advising on sell-side and buy-side M&A as well as equity and debt capital raises in the consumer sector. He holds a B.S. in Commerce with a second major in Spanish from the University of Virginia.
