Investment thesis
CEA Investissement supports the creation and spin-off of startups valorizing technologies developed in CEA laboratories. It invests at company founding (founder shares) based on innovations linked to CEA research, backs scientific and commercial development of young companies, and seeks financial returns while retaining indirect control over CEA-derived technologies. Since 1999 it has financed roughly a hundred startups spanning life sciences, energy, microelectronics, materials and industrial equipment. It launched the ATI seed fund in 2013 and, in partnership with Amundi, co-founded Supernova Invest in 2017, enabling it to support companies from creation through seed, venture and growth capital via fund-of-funds investments.
