Rotageek is a workforce management and employee scheduling software provider serving multi-site organisations, positioned by the company at businesses with 400 or more employees. Its platform spans three linked stages: forecasting labour demand from historical data and demand drivers in 15-minute increments, labour modelling that converts demand forecasts into staffing requirements and supports "what-if" scenario testing, and digital scheduling that replaces spreadsheets with a cloud-based, drag-and-drop rota builder. Founding story

The concept originated in 2006 when two medical doctors and a technologist set out to build better, fairer and more flexible rotas for the Accident and Emergency department where co-founder Chris McCullough worked. McCullough, who trained as a medical doctor and spent 16 years in the NHS including eight years as an Emergency Medicine Physician at London hospitals, found scheduling in the NHS inefficient for both staff and patients. He teamed up with Roy Pounder and Nick Mann to build a scheduling product initially aimed at UK healthcare rostering, with Mann providing the technical build.
