Prashan Dharmasena is the engineering co-founder of fomo, the social-first crypto trading app valued at $550 million in a $75 million Series B led by Index Ventures in June 2026 — and the person who built the iOS and Android apps that valuation rests on. He spent close to a decade shipping consumer mobile at scale before crypto: an Android intern turned engineer at Fitbit, then five years as a senior Android engineer at Square, then head of mobile at OpenSea from 2022, where he was the primary contributor to its open-source Jellyfish library. He joined dYdX in 2024 to run mobile and frontend platform, and left the same year to start fomo with Paul Erlanger and Se Yong Park. He studied computer science at UC Berkeley, and got his first startup job as a mobile intern at Lockitron in Y Combinator's summer 2013 batch.
