Lee Rand

Lee Rand was a Partner at Sun Mountain Capital from 2009 to 2025 and now serves the firm and its funds as an advisor, having previously sat on the investment committees of all the firm's programs. Before Sun Mountain, he founded semantic search company Knogee, held business development and product roles at Intel, and led product management at semiconductor startup Netboost; earlier in his career he worked at Ernst & Young and as an independent strategy and operations consultant. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a dual BA in computer science and mathematics from Cornell University.
