Larry Page co-founded Google with Sergey Brin at Stanford in 1998, inventing the PageRank algorithm that made web search work and building the advertising business that funded it. He served as CEO twice, most notably from 2011 to 2015, then created the Alphabet holding structure to separate Google from the moonshot bets and stepped back from the CEO role in 2019. He has since funded electric aviation through Kitty Hawk and Opener.
