Kate Mitchell

Founded

Mitchell co-founded Scale Venture Partners, a Silicon Valley software-focused venture firm. In 2014 Mitchell co-founded the NVCA initiative now called Venture Forward, focused on advancing opportunities for women and minorities in venture.

Mitchell is an advisor and speaker at the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford Law School. Mitchell is a member of the NASDAQ Private Market Advisory Board.

Mitchell co-authored the IPO section of the 2012 JOBS Act. Mitchell co-chaired and co-founded the NVCA Inclusion & Diversity Task Force. Mitchell serves as a Kauffman Fellows mentor. Mitchell is a charter member of Environmental Entrepreneurs (Silicon Valley). Mitchell is a Toigo Foundation supporter.

Awards

Mitchell received the NVCA Outstanding Service Award in 2013 for her policy work on behalf of the venture industry. Mitchell was awarded the Private Equity Trailblazer Award at the 2018 Women in Private Equity Summit. Mitchell was named a 2017 Forty Over 40 honoree.
