She co-founded Papaya Global in 2016 with Ofer Herman and Ruben Drong on a contrarian premise — that global payroll is a payments problem, not an HR one — and grew it into a platform that runs payroll, hiring and cross-border payments for companies employing people in more than 160 countries. It passed a $1 billion valuation in March 2021 and reached $3.7 billion six months later on a $250 million round, has moved over $7 billion in payroll for more than 2,000 companies including a third of the Fortune 500, and bought the payments firm Azimo in 2022 so it would own its licences rather than rent them. She came to software from the operational trenches, having founded two cross-border employment businesses after seven years running operations at an infrastructure group.
