About

Christopher A. Schuh is Dean of the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University, and previously served as the Danae and Vasilis Salapatas Professor of Metallurgy at MIT. He holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1997) and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (2001), and his research addresses structural metallurgy, including the design and control of grain boundary structure and chemistry. Schuh has co-founded several metallurgical companies, including Xtalic Corporation, Desktop Metal, and Foundation Alloy, and is an elected member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of ASM, TMS, and the National Academy of Inventors.
