Bill Tai is a venture capitalist whose portfolio has produced more than 23 IPOs. Trained as a computer chip designer, he began his career at LSI Logic and later built the semiconductor practice at investment bank Alex. Brown & Sons, where he positioned IPOs for companies including Atmel, Cirrus Logic, Dallas Semiconductor, and Zilog. He has been a general partner at IVP and established the Silicon Valley office for CRV, and co-founded companies such as Treasure Data and IPinfusion. As an angel investor he backed early-stage companies including Zoom, Canva, Dapper Labs, and Lineage Logistics, and he is an active proponent of blockchain and cryptocurrency as well as a former sponsored kiteboarding athlete.
