Arnold Milstein is a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University, where he directs the Clinical Excellence Research Center, a collaboration between the Schools of Medicine and Engineering focused on designing health care delivery models that lower per capita spending and improve patient experience. Earlier, he founded a healthcare performance improvement firm later acquired by Mercer and co-founded the Leapfrog Group and the Consumer Purchaser Alliance. He served on the faculty of UCSF's Health Policy Institute, held a term as a MedPAC Commissioner, and holds a BA in Economics from Harvard, an MD from Tufts, and an MPH from UC Berkeley.
