Investment thesis
Wedgetail finances nature-positive ventures that regenerate ecosystems and protect biodiversity rather than merely mitigating environmental harm. Believing humanity is inseparable from the natural world, it argues that carbon neutrality and damage mitigation are insufficient, and that economic models must be reimagined to be regenerative by default. Wedgetail describes itself as a hybrid financier — offering loans, innovation investments, and grants — rather than a traditional bank, VC, or charity. Its first product is a nature-linked loan whose interest rate falls as borrowers conserve and restore more nature. It partners with landowners, NGOs, and businesses on projects across the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa.
