Investment thesis
The Vanderes Foundation is a Dutch ANBI-certified philanthropic capital fund committed to evidence-based giving. It seeks to maximize investment returns in order to maximize donations to the most impactful interventions, evaluating causes that are big, solvable, and neglected. By default it donates to the Effective Altruism Funds covering global health and development, the long-term future, animal welfare, and effective altruism meta, while its board may directly support specific interventions where it can achieve outsized impact. Originally focused on education through impact investing for student lenders in lower-GDP countries, the foundation shifted toward maximizing impact per dollar after engaging with the Effective Altruism movement.
