The Atmospheric Fund

Alexa Bates is a Research & Innovation Junior Analyst at The Atmospheric Fund, where she helps quantify the carbon and co-benefits of TAF's grants, investments, and projects, including its annual GTHA Carbon Emissions Inventory. She is studying Environmental Engineering at the University of Guelph and volunteers with sustainable engineering not-for-profit organizations.

Amanda Burns monitors and analyzes trends to support the implementation of policy solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions across the GTHA. She previously worked for UNESCO on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in small island developing states. She holds a Master's degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto.

Amanda Mosca is the EV Charging Program Manager at The Atmospheric Fund, where she supports the deployment of EV charging infrastructure in the GTHA. She previously worked in municipal, post-secondary, and non-profit roles in project management and program development focused on youth engagement in climate action and sustainability literacy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Conservation Biology and a dual diploma in Ecosystems Management Technology.

Ben Knaggs is an Impact Investing Analyst at The Atmospheric Fund, where he supports the team with risk assessment, financial modelling, and portfolio management of low-carbon energy solutions in the GTHA. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and focuses on sustainable investing.

Benedictus Haryanto is a Retrofit Accelerator Analyst who works on improving building energy performance, indoor environmental quality, and emissions reductions in multi-family buildings. He previously worked in commercial real estate, supporting sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency projects. He holds a degree in Environmental Economics and Policy from the University of Guelph and a Master of Climate Change from the University of Waterloo.

Beth Austerberry serves as Project Management Lead for The Atmospheric Fund's Retrofit Accelerator. Her background is in the non-profit and social services sectors, most recently as Executive Director of a repair education non-profit. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from McGill University and a Project Management certificate from Fanshawe College.

Chris Caners is Director of Clean Electrification at The Atmospheric Fund, where he leads efforts to advance electrification across the GTHA. He previously served as General Manager of SolarShare, a renewable energy co-operative, and worked as a consultant at ICF on climate policy, energy efficiency, and GHG assurance, with earlier experience at solar financing company M-KOPA. He also teaches greenhouse gas accounting and reporting at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies.

Colleen Mahaffie-Nixon is the Communications and Campaigns Lead at The Atmospheric Fund, where she works on communications and campaigns to advance building retrofits and net-zero buildings in the GTHA. She previously held communications and marketing roles at environmental and social impact nonprofits, supporting tree planting programs, stakeholder engagement, and community social impact projects. She holds a BA in Communications from Villanova University.

Crystal Crawford is the Operations Lead at The Atmospheric Fund (TAF), where they manage internal systems, tools, spaces, and processes to support staff and organizational goals. They hold a Bachelor of Science in global health from York University and advocate for safer cycling and urban greenspace.

David Manzo is an Impact Investing Analyst who works on research, due diligence, and impact reporting. He previously gained finance and policy experience at the Bank of Canada and Chrysalix Venture Capital. He holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management and dual degrees in Engineering Physics and Economics from Queen's University.

Diana Yoon joined The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) in 2017 to help expand its presence and advance climate solutions in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. She holds a Bachelor's in Human Geography & Environmental Studies from Queen's University and completed a post-graduate certificate in Environmental Visual Communications. She is a founding member of Climate Justice Toronto and previously served as Housing Lead at the Toronto Youth Cabinet.
