Shaun Bassett oversees PieLAB's investments in HappyCo and Cloudstaff, where he serves as a board member, and led the firm's investments in and exits from AIRE and ActivePipe. He holds a Bachelor of Business (majoring in banking and finance, and management) from Queensland University of Technology, completed the Venture Capital Executive Program at UC Berkeley, and undertook Moody's Analytics financial risk assessment training. His background includes business funding, debt structuring, succession planning, and B2B sales leadership, including running Macquarie Bank's national sales team.

Annelize Du Preez has accounting experience across South Africa, the Cayman Islands, and Australia. Before joining PieLAB, she worked with several financial services businesses and served as an investment accountant at Queensland Investment Corporation, handling investment reporting for private equity funds. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa.

Carey Meydell is a finance professional with experience across financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and media & entertainment. Her work centers on financial management, reporting accuracy and compliance, and improving financial systems and processes.

Charles Berry is a Chartered Accountant with a background in commercial accounting and financial advice for complex investment, business, and legal matters. At QIC he managed the accounting function for the Global Infrastructure and Private Equity Portfolios, and he previously served as CFO of Queensland Ballet and worked in his family's mid-tier accounting firm across corporate tax, audit, and M&A advisory. Before his accounting career he was a professional ballet dancer. He currently sits on the Finance and Risk Committee of the Archdiocesan Development Fund.

Heidi Blanch provides executive and leadership support at PieLAB, helping coordinate the team's communication and day-to-day operations. Her work focuses on stakeholder and relationship management, calendar and travel coordination, and team administration.

Jeff McKee most recently served as Group CEO of Jonas Software ANZ, where over more than a decade he oversaw a portfolio of vertical market software companies and led acquisitions across healthcare, aged care, retail, and fleet management. Earlier he was Chief Financial Officer of Jonas Software in Canada and spent eight years at KPMG advising technology and gaming companies in North America. He holds an Honours degree in Business Administration from York University and is a Chartered Accountant.

Katrina Glendinning served as CFO and COO of ASX-listed Pengana Capital Group from its inception, overseeing risk, compliance and reporting across equities, private markets and credit strategies. She was previously an Executive Vice President at BT Financial Group and began her career at Price Waterhouse as a Chartered Accountant. Her experience spans capital management, M&A execution, financial reporting and strategic planning across the financial services sector.

Michael Sanders has over nine years of experience across banking, private equity and corporate finance, and has worked on more than 50 M&A and capital raising projects. His background includes business sale and acquisition processes, due diligence, valuation analysis and advisory work with mid-market private equity funds. As Portfolio Manager, he works with portfolio company teams on strategic initiatives, business performance and long-term value creation.

Richelle Frechtling has over 20 years of international experience spanning private equity, investment banking, telecommunications, natural resources, not-for-profit organisations, and SMEs. At PieLAB she focuses on building financial infrastructure, including compliance frameworks, treasury operations, and reporting systems. Her work centers on financial management, process improvement, and translating financial data into business intelligence.

Sam Bishop works at PieLAB Venture Partners after serving as a Senior Associate at Pinnacle Investment Management Group Limited, where the work included ASX financial results reporting and financial analysis for internal growth initiatives, buy-side M&A, and investment portfolio reporting. Bishop focuses on supporting founder-led businesses with growth strategy. Bishop holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics (majoring in Finance and Quantitative Methods) from the University of Queensland.

Scott Palmer is an accountant who manages client portfolios and financial workflows, providing services such as payroll, monthly reconciliations, and back-office accounts management. His experience spans industries including solar energy, specialised measurement solutions, data centre services, and construction. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Queensland University of Technology.

Shelly King works on applying technology, AI and data to improve operational performance and marketing effectiveness across PieLAB and its portfolio companies. She focuses on identifying innovation opportunities, strengthening systems, and connecting strategy with implementation to create business value.
