Investment thesis
KWAP is a statutory Malaysian retirement fund whose core activity is managing member contributions, investing fund assets, and administering pension payments for public-sector retirees. Under its governing act, it allocates capital across domestic and international asset classes such as equities, fixed-income securities, money market instruments, and other investments reviewed by its Investment Panel and approved by its Board. The fund emphasizes responsible, sustainable investing aligned with ESG principles and Shariah compliance, and has launched initiatives such as a RM2 billion climate fund. Since late 2015 it also acts as the Federal Government's agent for pension disbursements.
