Investment thesis
Insper Angels operates an angel investor network built and managed by Insper alumni, with over 450 angel investors and more than 35 active members from diverse backgrounds. Beyond capital, members contribute networking and targeted mentorship to support entrepreneurs. The network sources deals through an online application, dealflow selection, a hybrid Pitch Night event, and an investment committee of interested members before investing in startups. It aims to build quality networking among members, share experiences and opportunities, let less-experienced investors learn from more-experienced ones, and access deals not otherwise available in the market. It is hosted at Insper's Paulo Cunha Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

4DI Ventures was co-founded by repeat tech operator and ESET Southern Africa founder Justin Stanford, giving it unusually deep cybersecurity and software operating experience rather than a purely financial background, and originated from Stanford's own angel-investing experiments that directly led to both the firm's creation and the launch of the Silicon Cape Initiative. The firm explicitly describes its style as "nurture capital" with intensive, hands-on engagement, and Stanford is vocal about avoiding the "unicorn at all costs" mentality in African tech, instead emphasizing sustainable market readiness and fundamentals in a more conservative, durability-focused investment approach.
