Alumni Q&A

How did your company get started? (i.e., How did the founders meet? How did you come up with the idea? How did you decide to be a founder?)
OrgOrg is the founder's third company, following Zenter (YC S07), which Google acquired and turned into Google Slides, and Humu, founded in 2016. The founder previously led work on Google Workspace in its early days. The idea came from repeatedly having to rebuild internal organizational tools—such as employee profiles, anonymous all-hands Q&A, go links, and rules-based groups—that existing productivity suites lacked, leading to the conclusion that organizations need these tools bundled together rather than as separate point solutions.
What is your long-term vision? If you truly succeed, what will be different about the world?
The founders aim to address the inefficiencies that arise as organizations grow, arguing that complexity increases faster than headcount and reduces communication, focus, and velocity. They believe the right tooling can mitigate these problems, and they compare their ambition to the shift in work brought about by Google Workspace starting in 2007.

Summarized from the founders' answers on their Y Combinator profile.
