Langdock

Langdock offers an enterprise AI adoption platform built around a model-agnostic chat interface, custom AI agents, integrations with existing business tools, multi-step AI workflows, an API for accessing leading models, and a library/skills layer for reusable files, knowledge bases and instruction sets. The platform is positioned as a layer between companies and large language model providers so that organizations can enable or disable specific foundation, open-source or self-hosted models for their employees without committing to a single vendor.

The product emphasizes governance and compliance for European buyers: hosting in Europe, GDPR compliance, single sign-on (SSO/SCIM/SAML), central admin and governance controls, agent review and approval with compliance rule templates covering the EU AI Act, GDPR and security, plus cloud or on-premise deployment options. Custom deployments are available from 1,000+ seats. The company says the platform is used by more than 10,000 companies globally, with large rollouts including Merck (where the deployment is branded "myGPT Suite"), Würth Group, Dr. Wolff, Home24 and Jansen.

Founding story

Langdock was founded in 2023 in Germany by Lennard Schmidt, Jonas Beisswenger and Tobias Kemkes and took part in Y Combinator's Summer 2023 batch. The team initially built a product that let developers create LLM plugins across ChatGPT and LangChain, gaining a few hundred users; conversations with those users about corporate hesitancy around LLMs led them to pivot to a GDPR-compliant, model-agnostic ChatGPT alternative for teams. The founders frame the company's mission around Germany's demographic shift — roughly a third of the working population expected to retire over the next 15 years — arguing that a smaller workforce must become more productive, and that AI can augment and automate work accordingly.

Business model

Langdock sells subscription software to organizations. The base "Chat & Agents" subscription is priced per user per month (€25 for a Standard seat, €99 for a Business Max seat with 5x more usage, excluding VAT, with a 20% discount for annual billing) and covers up to 1,000 users; an Enterprise tier with custom pricing and dedicated deployment covers 1,000+ users. Add-ons include Workflows (package-based per workspace, e.g. €539/month for 40,000 workflow runs, with a Starter package at 2,500 runs included), Governance (priced per user per month on a tiered scale from €3.50 down to €1.50, free until 1 January 2027), and an API product billed by token usage per model. A 7-day free trial with €5 of model credits and no credit card is offered.

Recurring per-seat subscriptions for the core chat and agents product, workspace-level packages for workflows, per-user add-on pricing for governance, and usage-based token pricing for the API.

Traction

The company reports more than 10,000 customer companies globally (up from 7,000), and cites Merck as a company-wide deployment with more than 33,000 monthly active users, scaled across 62,000-63,000 employees. A second-wave rollout covering more than 30,000 employees is underway at Würth Group. Published ARR milestones run from $1M in October 2024 to $10M in September 2025, $20M in March 2026 and $50M in August 2026, with reporting of $40M ARR reached in June 2026 — an 8x increase from $5M a year earlier — described as profitable and adding about $1M ARR weekly since early 2026. Team size milestones cited are 10 members in December 2024 and 30 in January 2026; Y Combinator lists a team size of 55.

Latest developments

RivalSense reports that Langdock shipped a major platform release, added Library and Skills to its core product areas, and integrated Lara Translate as a remote MCP server for context-aware translation in agents and workflows. Judith Dada joined from Visionaries Club as co-CEO while remaining a Senior Partner there, with the company reported at $40M ARR and profitable; she is slated to speak at Ten More In on 23 July and at The Times & Sunday Times Tech Summit 2026. Langdock sponsored the AI Tinkerers Berlin meetup in June 2026, and Personio appointed AI specialists from Langdock and Intercom to its board. Governance add-on pricing is scheduled to begin on 1 January 2027 after a free period.
