Rob Johnson joined Vertiv (a Platinum Equity company spun off from Emerson) as CEO in December 2016, leading the company through divestitures, acquisitions, and a public offering. He previously served as an Operating Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (2014–2016) and held executive roles at Consolidated Container Corporation and A123 Systems. Earlier, he founded Systems Enhancement Corporation in 1989, later sold to American Power Conversion, where he became CEO and oversaw its $6.1 billion sale to Schneider Electric; he holds a B.S. and an honorary doctorate in engineering management from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
