Rick Kimball is a venture capitalist and technology investor who co-founded the growth equity firm TCV with Jay Hoag in 1995. Before TCV, he spent more than a decade as a Managing Director at Montgomery Securities, focusing on telecommunications and data communications as a venture capitalist and senior equity research analyst. Under his tenure, TCV has raised over $17 billion in capital and become a provider of growth capital to technology companies. He has been involved in numerous TCV investments spanning telecom, infrastructure, and consumer technology, including GoDaddy, Rent the Runway, Redback Networks, and Liquidnet. His equity research earned number one institutional rankings from Greenwich Associates and recognition from Institutional Investor Magazine.
